The buttons at the bottom of the Configure Switch dialog box are available from any
selected tab and are described below.
Configure Switch Dialog Box Buttons
Button Function
Restart Stealth-
3
(not available
for Vixel 8100)
Causes ports that are set to InstantLoop or
InstantLoop with Priority to arbitrate for addresses.
(Note that these ports arbitrate for addresses every
time their links are reestablished.)
Load Sample
Config
(not available
for Vixel 8100)
Loads the switch’s sample configuration file without saving
the information to flash.
Factory
Defaults
(Vixel 8100
only)
Loads the local factory default file without saving the
information to flash.
Switch Read Obtains the switch’s current configuration and
refreshes the Configure Switch dialog box with the
new data. (If the current configuration cannot be
obtained, the factory default configuration is loaded.)
Apply ALL
(“Apply” for
Vixel 8100)
Makes all configuration settings permanent on the
switch by saving them to flash*; the configuration
settings are retained after switch reboot. (If any
“Include...in Apply ALL?” or, for Vixel 8100,
“Include...in Apply?” checkboxes are unchecked, those
settings are excluded from the Apply action.) The
Apply ALL action includes the Stealth-3 address
negotiation process (which can be initiated separately
through the Restart Stealth-3 button).
* Note: If the Apply option “Save to Flash” is
unchecked (in the Options tab), the configuration
settings are saved to RAM only (not flash); at switch
reboot, the configuration stored in flash supersedes
the configuration saved to RAM.
