Laser technology – why?
The use of a laser for scanning a tabletop surface enhances the precision and thus the pointer
movement accuracy – resembling the advantage of a mouse with an optical sensor over a ball mouse.

The Laser Technology Principle
An optical sensor detects the beam transmitted by the corresponding LED and reflected by the desktop
surface. The laser sensor works the same way but since the laser beam is much better focused, the
reflection result is by far more precise.
