What you can do with RDS
RDS(RadioDataSystem)allowsFMstationsto
sendanadditionalsignalalongwiththeirregular
programsignals.Forexamplethestationssend
theirstation,aswellasinformationaboutwhat
typeofprogramtheybroadcast,suchassports
ormusic,etc.AnotheradvantageofRDSfunc-
tioniscalled“EnhancedOtherNetworks”.
ByusingtheEnhancedOtherNetworksdata
sendfromastation,youcantuneuntoadiffer-
entstationofadifferentnetworkbroadcasting
yourfavoriteprogramortrafficannouncement
whilelisteningtoanotherprogramorgoanother
sourcesuchasCD.
ByreceivingtheRDSdata,thisunitcamdothe
following:

- StandbyReceptionofTA(Traffic
announcement)oryourfavoriteprogram

Changing the display mode while listening
to an FM station
Youcanchangetheinitialindicationonthe
displaytostationname(PSNAME),station
frequency(FREQ),orclocktime(CLOCK)while
listeningtoanFMRDSstation.
Note:
A.BypressingDISP(display),youcanchange
thedisplaywhilelisteningtoanFMRDSstation
only.Eachtimeyoupressthebutton,thefollow-
inginformationappearsonthedisplay:
Thenthedisplaygoesbacktotheoriginalindi-
cationinseveralseconds.
Setting the TA volume level
YoucanpresetthevolumelevelforTAStandby
Reception.Whenatrafficprogramisreceived,
thevolumelevelautomaticallychangestothe
presetlevel.
