Application Requirements
Vital Coat Shingle Shield features a durable two-part acrylic formula with PosiCoat technology
designed to bond to worn damaged roofing surfaces providing a strong coating to help preserve and
extend the life of the roof. In order to receive the full benefit of the Shingle Shield application, it is
important follow the necessary steps to successfully apply and care for your roof to meet the
requirements of your warranty.
Initial Roof Assessment
Prior to the application of your roof, an authorized Vital Coat installer must perform a roof assessment to
determine the condition of the roof, the efficacy of the use of Shingle Shield as well as viability of warranty.
Severe damage or significant ageing of the shingles may prevent the ability to warranty the product.
1. Home identification, name and address of service address.
2. When was house constructed?
3. How old is the roof?
4. What type of roof? (Asphalt Shingle, Wood, Clay, Concrete, Slate, etc.,)
5. Is there any existing warranty on the current roof?
6. Are there any building codes that prevent the use of roof sealers in your area?
7. Any active leaks?
8. Is attic properly ventilated to allow for heat to escape?
9. Are shingle distorted due to excessive heat from exposure or attic temperatures?
10. Any damaged areas, (broken shingles, cracks, etc.,)
11. List of repairs required before application.
12. Has the roof ever been treated with any other roof treatment or sealer?
13. Any mold and mildew present?
14. Is cleaning required before application
15. Condition of granules present.
16. Pictures taken of the roof condition prior to being serviced.
