WATER QUALITY AND MAINTENANCE GENERAL GUIDELINES QUALITY MAINTENANCE FOR WATER Maintaining water quality within specific limits will enhance your enjoyment and prolong the life of the spa. Safe, comfortable and clean spa water is a fairly simple task to achieve, but it does require attention because of the numerous factors that can alter it. There is no one formula to be followed because of the variables, i.e. quality of the water used to fill the spa, water temperature, user load, etc.
IMPORTANT WATER MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES DAILY 3 days a week Check water level. Keep water above bottom of skimmer door and a minimum of 1” above highest jet. Check and adjust chlorine level to 1.0 to 3.0 ppm if chlorine is used as sanitizer. If bromine is used, check weekly. If Sparkle Clear is used, check weekly. W EEKLY Test the spa water using 3-way water test strips Adjust pH and total alkalinity. pH: 7.4 to 7.6 (ideal 7.6). Once a week Total Alkalinity: 80 to 120 ppm Maintain 1.0 to 3.
