DYNALOG C-SCAN INSPECTION SYSTEM
The C-Scan 2010 is the latest development of the C-Scan series of non-contact pipeline survey systems for
buried transmission pipelines. C-Scan is in regular use by the world’s petroleum and gas industries, producers,
pipeline constructors, operators and survey companies.
USES:
¾ Accurately locates the buried pipeline and displays its position and depth – even for pipelines under roads,
concrete, sand, mud, growing crops, ice or water courses
¾ Displays the average condition of the wrap or coating between any two locations.
¾ Pinpoints individual wrap or coating faults for excavation and repair.
¾ Stores and analyses all survey data and prints out comprehensive reports, plots and maps utilising GPS
interface.
¾ Using Dynalog’s proprietary software, downloads all data to a computer for further analysis and comparisons
C-Scan 2010 - Does not require direct contact with the ground
Does not require the pipeline to be marked out
Does not require the operator to walk every meter of the pipeline
Some application areas
¾ Periodic surveying of buried transmission lines to monitor changes in the condition of wrap or coating.
¾ Accurately locating wrapping damage or faults so that repairs can be effected quickly and economically.
¾ Mapping of pipelines – checking location, cover, position of branches, cross-bonds, sacrificial anodes, etc.
¾ Check surveying of new lines – under rivers, ice, mud, undergrowth or crops to determine location and
condition
¾ Monitoring lines for potential damage caused by engineering or construction work.
¾ Checking on possible movement of lines due to changing ground conditions, subsidence, soil or beach
erosion or strong water currents at river crossings
¾ Locating unwanted ‘contacts’ with buried metallic debris or other underground services.
