2 Columbus System Triplex Basic Operations
2.1 Principal Operating Modes
The Columbus System Triplex has three principal modes of operation:
Live Viewing.
Playback.
Recording.
All three of these modes can operate simultaneously. Each mode is discussed in detail later in this
section.
2.2 The Front Panel

1. Function Button: Used in conjunction with Camera Buttons to run macros. Also displays help
screens in certain modes.
2. Sequence Button: Sequences camera views.
3. Camera Selection Number Buttons: Camera numbers 1 through 8.
4. Arrow Button: Controls Playback speed and Menu selections.
5. Menu Button: Provides access to on-screen menus.
6. Camera Selection Number Buttons: Camera numbers 9 through 16.
7. Monitor Select Button: For selecting Monitor A or B.
8. Multiscreen Buttons: For selection of various multiscreen options.
9. Zoom Button: Provides a 2X digital zoom.
10. Alarm Button: Allows user to acknowledge and silence alarms.
11. VCR Control Buttons: Live/Stop, Record, Reverse Play, Freeze, Play Forward, and Search buttons.
12. Enter Button: Confirms selections in menus.
13. Telemetry Buttons: Focus, Iris, Telemetry Zoom, Preset Position, and Telemetry On/Off buttons.
14. Telemetry Camera Control Buttons: Camera Power, Lamps, Wash, Wipe, and Auto Pan buttons.
