The Operating System Update Fails or Device Freezes During Update
1. As some updates take longer to install than others, please ensure you wait and do not operate the device
until it is finished.
2. Please ensure your device is plugged into the power charger during any operating system updates.
Updates can fail due to Low power and the automatic power off feature (while on battery mode).

If you have forgotten your password you will need to visit https//account. Live.com/password/reset to
reset it. Follow the prompts on the screen.
I've Connected the Device via HDMI but the TV Doesn't Play Sound
I. When playing video through your TV via a HDMI cable (sold separately) the sound may not work. To fix
this right click on the sound icon at the bottom right of your home screen on your device. Select
"Sounds" a dialogue box will open. Select the "Playback" tab, right click the TV icon and set as default.
The sound should now go through your TV.

1. On your PC running Windows I 0 in S mode, open Setting > Update & Security 0 > Activation.
2. Find the Switch to Windows I 0 Home or Switch to Windows I 0 Pro section, then select the Go to the
Store Link. (Note If you also see an

Upgradeyour edition of Windows^section, be careful not to click
the "gto the stere" link that appears there.)
3. On the Switch out of S mode(or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button.
After you see a confirmation message on the page, you will be able to install apps from outside of the
Microsoft Store.
