Security Settings
The Security Setting page allows you to congure the security management features on the router such as Packet lters and MAC Control.
Click on any of the menu items on the left to access the associated settings.
Security Settings > Packet Filters
The Packet Filter enables you to control what packets are allowed to pass through the router. There are two types of packet lter, the
“Outbound Packet Filter” which applies to all outbound packets and the “Inbound Packet Filter” which only applies to packets that are
destined for a Virtual Server or DMZ host only.
To enable an Outbound Filter, please make sure to tick the Enable tick box on the top of the page. There are two type of ltering policies:
1. Allow all data through the routerexcept data that matches the specied rules.
2. Deny all data through the router except data that matches the specied rules.
For each direction, you can specify up to 48 rules. For each rule you will need to dene the following:
• Source IP address
• Source port
• Destination IP address
• Destination port
• Protocol: TCP or UDP or both.
