3. Caution
The initial setup of the devices should be done in one centralized location; performing the initial
setup in a geographically distributed system may cause unnecessary remote site visits.
While configuring the firewall in M2M GW and Arctic, it is possible to lock oneself out of the system.
Therefore, in the initial setup phase, it is a good practice to test the console login procedure for both
devices. See page 64, chapter 16.1 Testing the console login for more information.
4. Installation workflow
The recommended workflow is seen in Figure 1: Installation workflow. The cross-reference to
chapters in this document is written next to the task box.
The work flow has been separated into two parts:
• The procedures for planning and decision making
• The actual installation procedures
