12. Configuring the installation environment
This chapter describes the actions needed before the M2M GW and Arctic can be set up. The main
task is to prepare the computer that is used in configuring the M2M GW and Arctic.
12.1. Configuring the installation computer
The computer that is used for installing and configuring the Viola Systems M2M solution is called
the field engineer's laptop even though a desktop computer can be used as well. Although the
instructions below are for Windows XP, almost all modern operating systems can be used.
