10. Connecting and cabling the units
10.1. Unpacking
Save the packages and boxes of the received equipment for possible later use.
Follow the local regulations, while disposing of any wrapping materials.
10.2. Environmental specifications
While the temperature and humidity are specified in details (see below) there are other aspects that
should be also taken into consideration. The M2M GW should be positioned to reasonably dust
free environment. In addition, as with any device equipped with hard disk drive, the M2M GW
should not be subjected to excessive shocks or vibration.
10.2.1. M2M GW
Operating temperature 0 to 45 Celsius (30 to 113 Fahrenheit)
Storage temperature: -20 to 45 Celsius (-4 to 113 Fahrenheit)
Humidity 10 to 90 % RH non-cond.

11. Cabling
Connect the Ethernet cables and possible serial cables before connecting power supply cables.
Verify that the power switch in Arctic is in "Off" position before connecting the power supply cable.
11.1. Cabling the M2M GW
There are two Ethernet connectors at the back side of M2M GW.
The first one, marked with number "1" stamped to the right side of the connector, is the WAN port of
M2M GW. It is the eth0 interface in M2M's graphical user interface.
The second Ethernet connector, marked with number "2" is the LAN port of the M2M GW. It is the
eth1 interface in M2M GW's GUI.
There are also connectors for local console with analog VGA connector for monitor and either PS/2
or USB ports for local keyboard. The local console is helpful in some situations (e.g. if one has
