About this Manual The Vinten Radamec Head Processing Module (HPM) has been designed to integrate with the Vinten Vision 250E pan & tilt head, Canon and Fujinon lenses and the Quattro SE pedestal, coordinating encoder output from all axes for VR applications. This manual covers the installation of the HPM, and its connections with compatible products and studio equipment. When installation is complete, the head and head support connected must be configured before the HPM is used for VR tracking.

Installation Mounting the HPM To mount the HPM to a Vision 250E head, any fitted payload must be removed and it must be dismounted from its support. All work should be carried out in a workshop environment on a suitable work surface. 2 Note: When fitting a Vision 250E/HPM configuration to a Quattro SE pedestal, ALWAYS fit the adaptor ring kit (part no. 3354-900SP) between the head and the pedestal weight tray to avoid trapping the Ethernet, power and genlock cables.
Installation Electrical Connections Cable Clamp Power Options CAUTION! Do NOT attempt to power other external devices other than those specified from the HPM power output socket. The HPM may be damaged if any device other than the Quattro SE pedestal is connected. CAUTION! All cables must be secured and dressed using the cable clamp to minimise the risk of damage. Unscrew the cable clamp knob sufficiently to feed the cables into the channels through the cable clamp block.

Installation and Maintenance Powering Up Studio VR Connection Before powering up the HPM, ensure that all external cable connections have been secured correctly. To power up, operate the on/off switch. The 5V and 12V LEDs will illuminate. Studio VR graphics system VR Data Port Pin Designations. The VR Data port transmits the VR data to the studio VR graphics system.
Troubleshooting Fault Check HPM is switched on, but 5V and 12V indicator LEDs are not lit. Check that either a 50–60 Hz AC mains power supply of 100– 240V is connected to the PSU, or a DC power supply of 12V is connected. Comments If the DC output from the HPM is in use, try disconnecting it in case the load is too high. No VR data output from the HPM. • Check that the genlock signal is present. • Check all connections to the HPM are correct and secured.
Maintenance and General Notices Routine Maintenance Technical Specification The HPM requires minimal routine maintenance, apart from checking the connections and overall operation periodically. Dimensions Routine checks During use, check the following: • Check cables for signs or wear or damage. Replace as necessary. • Periodically, check the fixings securing the HPM to the head. • Check that all cables are connected properly. WARNING! Risk of electric shock.
