controlled by programmable option switches (see
preceding section). Other highlights of menu mode
operation are as follows. Individual descriptions of
menu mode functions start with Section 3.6.5.
Programming determines what functions are
displayed in the menu mode. If a function is
controlled by a menu parameter, it cannot be
controlled by the option switch and vice versa.
Some functions can be set in a fixed condition by
disabling the option switch and menu item and then
programming the default condition in the menu for
the desired mode. However, if a parameter can be
changed by an option switch or menu parameter or
is automatically changed (such as the horn alert
described in Section 3.5.10), the programmed
default condition is maintained only until the first
time it is changed.
Calls cannot be received or transmitted while in the
menu mode.
Pressing any control other than the select switch
while in the menu mode produces an error tone.
