2.11 OCXO DRAWER CONNECTIONS
2.11.1 VIKING VX CONNECTION
These guidelines should be followed when using
2009 series repeaters with a 2000 OCXO drawer, Part
No. 023-2000-925.
1. One 1.25 MHz output on the 2000 OCXO drawer is
connected to the 1.25 MHz Input on each 2009
Repeater. Up to eight 2009 series repeaters can be
connected to the 1.25 MHz Output ports.
This level is approximately 0 dBm.
2. If connection to additional 2009 series repeaters is
necessary, additional 8-Way Splitter Shelves, Part
No. 023-2000-924, are added as required.
All shelves are connected to the 1.25 MHz output
ports of the 2000 OCXO drawer.
The level at the splitter shelf output ports is approx-
imately -10 dBm. See Figure 2-10.
2.11.2 MIXED REPEATER CONNECTION WITH
SEPARATE OCXO DRAWERS
These guidelines should be followed when using
mixed repeaters with separate OCXO drawers.
3. One 1.25 MHz output on the 2000 OCXO drawer,
Part No. 023-2000-925, is connected to the
1.25 MHz Input on each 2009 series repeater.
Up to eight 2009 series repeaters can be connected
to the 1.25 MHz output ports.
This level is approximately 0 dBm. See Figure
2-11.
2.11.3 MIXED REPEATER CONNECTION WITH
8900 OCXO DRAWER
These guidelines should be followed when using
2009 series repeaters with an 8900 OCXO drawer, Part
No. 023-8900-300.
1. The output of the existing Local Oscillator drawer,
Part No. 023-8900-300, should be set to provide +10
dBm of reference signal at the 1.25 MHz input port
of the 8-Way Splitter Shelf, Part No. 023-2000-924.
The reference signal to all 2009 series repeaters (at
the 1.25 MHz Output of the splitter shelf) should be
within the range of 0 to -15 dBm for proper opera-
tion. See Figure 2-12.
2. An Attenuator Kit, Part No. 023-2000-923, should
be installed in the 8-Way Splitter Shelf.
This attenuator assembly should be adjusted to pro-
vide 1 to 1.2V P-P of reference signal at U205, pin
7 of all 8900 Receivers and Exciters in the existing
daisy chain connected to the Attenuator Out port.
Refer to Figure 2-9 for examples of attenuator set-
tings.
3. If connection to additional 2009 series repeaters is
necessary, additional 8-Way Splitter Shelves, Part
No. 023-2000-924, are added as required.
All additional splitter shelves are connected to the
1.25 MHz Output ports of the 8-Way Splitter Shelf
that is connected directly to the 8900 OCXO drawer.
The level at the splitter shelf output ports is approx-
imately -10 dBm. See Figure 2-10.
2.11.4 MIXED REPEATER CONNECTION WITH
2000 OCXO DRAWER
These guidelines should be followed when using
2009 series repeaters and 8900 series repeaters with a
2000 OCXO drawer, Part No. 023-2000-925.
1. One 1.25 MHz output on the 2000 OCXO drawer is
connected to the 1.25 MHz input on each 2009
Repeater. Up to seven 2009 series repeaters can be
connected to the 1.25 MHz output ports.
This level is approximately 0 dBm. See Figure
2-13.
