Winter Hardy
About Lilies
Vigoro Red Velvet Tigrinum Lily is a graceful blossom in shades of scarlet, peppered with black spots. Glossy, crimson petals are
wider at the base and taper to a point, curling back on the stem near the tips. Even the stamens are bright red! Growing 32-40”
tall with blooms up to 4” in width, the Red Velvet Lily is winter hardy and attractive to pollinators. Vigoro Red Velvet Tigrinum
Lily Flower Bulbs are grown, inspected, and imported from the world-famous bulb farmers in Holland.
Healthy soil should have good tilth, nutrient content,
and a viable population of beneficial microorganisms.
We recommend using natural and organic ingredients
to prepare the soil and maintain soil fertility. It is always
a good idea to have a soil test to identify your soil type
(sandy, loam, silt, clay) and find out your soil pH.
Plant lily bulbs in the spring after the ground has thawed and
there is no longer danger of frost.
Choose a location with well-drained soil that receives full sun.
Loosen soil prior to planting.
Dig a hole in loosened soil 8” deep. Place the bulb in the hole
with the roots/tubers down and any sprouts facing up. Space
each bulb 12” apart.
Cover with soil and water well so that the soil above the
bulbs settles. Keep soil moist during periods of dry weather
but do not overwater.
