Setting pop-up alerts preferences
You can change the settings for pop-up alert display.
1. Click Preferences, then click Alerts.
2. Click Preferences: Pop-up alerts, then check Display pop-up alerts.
3. Configure the limit and hotkey options.
4. Click Apply.
Using options within the pop-up alerts window
In addition to the computer name and event details, the pop-up alerts window includes the
following options:
More info—Connects you to the computer that generated the notification, displays a
more detailed description of the problem, or provides suggestions for corrective action.
Acknowledge—Clears the current notification from the pop-up alerts window and
displays the next notification. The pop-up alerts window closes when the last notification
has been cleared.
Do not display new notifications—Prevents the pop-up alerts window from appearing
when new notifications are received. However, the system tray icon flashes to notify you
when new alerts have been received.
Advanced options—Right-click in the pop-up alerts window message box to access
these advanced options:
Acknowledge all—Clears all notifications and closes the pop-up alerts window.
Copy—Copies the current notification to the clipboard.
Use the Page-Up
and Page-Down arrows to cycle through a circular list of accumulated
unacknowledged notifications.
Note—If you aren't logged in, notifications from your computer are stored in the log file.
Displaying the pop-up alerts window
You can display the pop-up alerts window at any time by pressing the notification hotkey
combination on the keyboard (Ctrl+Alt+N by default).
Configuring power cycle alerts
Use the Power cycle alerts page to cause the computer to shutdown or reboot when certain
configured events occur.
To configure which events and which severity levels trigger power cycle alerts, see
Using alerts.
Note—Power cycles may cause data loss on unattended machines.
To set power cycle alerts
1. Click Preferences, then click Alerts.
2. Click Preferences: Power cycle alerts, then check Allow power cycle alerts.
