Configuring audio alerts
Use the Audio alerts page to set audio notifications to play when certain events occur. The audio
notification is played with a .WAV file that you specify in this page.
You can play an audio notification for Informational, OK, Warning, or Critical events.
To set an audio notification to play for specific events
1. Click Preferences, then click Alerts.
2. Click Preferences: Audio alerts, then check Play audio alerts (.wav files).
3. In the text box of the event for which you want to play an audio notification, type the path
and filename of the .WAV file. For example, C:\WINDOWS\Media\notify.wav. Repeat for
other notifications.
4. When finished, click Apply.
Configuring e-mail and pager alerts
Use the E-mail alerts page to configure how you want Intel Server Manager to format and send
alert-action e-mail messages. If you don't have access to an SMTP Internet mail server, this alert
action won't work.
For information on configuring which events and severity levels trigger e-mail notices, see
Using
alerts
.
Notes:
• In the event of a failed connection to the SMTP Internet mail server, Intel Server Manager
will make continued attempts according to the delivery options you've specified. When
Intel Server Manager successfully passes an e-mail notice to the SMTP server, it no
longer has control of delivery for that notice.
• Intel Server Manager does not set e-mail alerts on SMTP servers that require
authentication.
You can change these Intel Server Manager e-mail settings:
• Outgoing mail server (SMTP)—The SMTP Internet mail server that the alert action will
send the message through.
