CONFIGURING AND VIEWING ALERTS
To set the polling frequency
1. Access the Windows Registry Editor.
The polling timers are located under HKLM\Software\Intel\Server
Manager\CurrentVersion\CCS and HKLM\Software\Intel\Server
Manager\CurrentVersion\conf\Thresholds.
2. Browse to the value PollingFrequency in any of the polling timers listed in the table
below.

Services 3 min (180 sec)
Disk change 1 min (60 sec)
SMART check 10 min (600 sec)
Disk space 1 min (60 sec)
Memory usage 1 min (60 sec)
ECC memory error check 10 min (600 sec)
Application change 10 min (600 sec)
NIC change 3 min (180 sec)
Modem change 3 min (180 sec)
Power supply change 1 min (60 sec)
3. Enter a new frequency in number of seconds.
4. Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
Note—If the polling is set to occur at too frequent of an interval, it may increase CPU usage and
impact performance.
IPMI configuration
Use the IPMI configuration page to customize settings for communicating with IPMI-enabled
systems. The features described below are available for in-band servers; if a server is out of
band, only the power configuration and BMC user settings are available.
NOTE: It is strongly recommended that you do not change IPMI settings unless you are familiar
with the
IPMI specification and understand the related technologies involved in these settings.
Improper use of these configuration options may prevent Intel Server Manager from successfully
communicating with IPMI-enabled computers.
