Managing system inventory
Computer summary
Intel Server Manager instantly displays the overall health of the computer with an icon:
Normal
Critical
Warning
The summary page also displays information about the computer. Items displayed may vary
depending on the type of computer and the technologies supported on the computer.
• Computer name—The name assigned to the computer.
• Administrator—The name of the computer hosting the administrator console that
manages the computer.
• Manufacturer—The manufacturer of the computer.
• Model—The model number of the computer.
• Version—The version number of the computer.
• Asset number—The asset tracking number assigned to the computer. This number is
sometimes assigned by the computer's manufacturer and stored in the computer's BIOS.
This information is taken from the BIOS, and cannot be changed. If the field is blank, click
Asset number and type an asset number.
• Serial number—The serial number of the computer.
• BIOS version—The version of the BIOS installed on the computer's motherboard.
• Operating system—The operating system currently running.
• OS Version—The operating system version, build number, and service pack release
number.
• CPU—The type of processor installed on the motherboard.
• Total physical memory—The amount of total memory capacity of the computer's
memory chips (not including virtual memory).
• Total hard drive space—The size of the installed hard disk, reported in megabytes.
• Total free hard drive space—The amount of available hard disk space, reported in
megabytes or gigabytes.
• TCP/IP address—The address assigned to the computer for communicating on TCP/IP
networks.
For IPMI systems only, the following information is displayed:
• Hardware platform—Description of the platform (such as IPMI).
• IPMI version—The version number of IPMI.
• IPMI SDR version—The version number of the SDR (sensor data record).
