Grundig uses LED backlighting in its TFT at-screen monitor panels. LED backlight technology has many
advantages over traditional CCFL backlighting.

Natural colours and higher contrast
LED backlight monitors have a higher gamut level than CCFL monitors.
The ability to show a wider colour spectrum results in a more accurate,
natural and realistic display. The white parts of an image produced by
an LED backlight monitor are brighter than CCFL and the images are
updated faster.
Together, these factors help to increase display contrast.

Twice the life
LED backlight monitors have twice the lifetime of
CCFL monitors
MTBF CCFL: 50.000 hours
MTBF LED: 100.000 hours
LED backlight monitors use around 35% less power than
CCFL monitors, reducing their running costs.
LED backlight monitors last longer than CFL monitors,
therefore are replaced less frequently.
Mean time before failure (MTBF) results demonstrate
that LED life is up to 100,000 hours - double that of
CCFL.
