ADTRANSwitches
Fast Ethernet
ADTRAN’s portfolio of business-class Fast Ethernet switching
solutions is perfect for Small- and Medium-sized Businesses
(SMBs) or multi-site enterprise networks. These solutions address
today’s highest networking priorities, including bandwidth
expansion, Voice over IP (VoIP) migration, and network security.
Robust Multiservice Access Routers with on-board switching also
provide a unique, cost-eective Wide Area Network/Local Area
Network (WAN/LAN) solution for all-in-one SMB networking.
Gigabit Ethernet
Ideal for new installations or network upgrades, these 12-,
24-, 48-port Gigabit switches can provide higher bandwidth
for corporate and branch oce LANs to support today’s most
bandwidth intensive applications. The NetVanta Gigabit Ethernet
switches oer multi-layer switching and support SFP ports for
optical connectivity. These switches are perfect for campus
applications, Gigabit-to-the-Desktop, or as an aggregator switch,
and oers optional Power over Ethernet for powering 802.3af-
LAN devices for high capacity applications.
Fiber
Fiber optics extends the reach beyond the 100-meters limitation
often associated with copper switchport interfaces. The
NetVanta 1544F is an all-ber solution, extending the reach and
oering redundancy, with virtual router redundancy protocol
(VRRP) between buildings in campus environments or between
wiring closets. The SFP ports support up to 2.5 Gbps per
interface allowing for faster throughput between NetVanta 1544
switches.
Stackable
For many organizations adding additional switches and
managing multiple switch stacks spread across wiring closets is
cumbersome, and can introduce conguration errors. ADTRAN’s
innovative, feature rich ActivChassis technology brings chassis-
switch capability and resiliency in a build-as-you grow model.
ActivChassis technology, now available on the NetVanta 1600
series Gigabit switches, allows for stacking and management
of up to eight Gigabit switches as single, logical switch.
ActivChassis simplies management of switch stacks spread
across wiring closets up to 6 miles apart (10 km) and boosts
backplane capacity up to 128 Gbps.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Fully managed 24 and 48-port Fast and Gigabit Power over
Ethernet (PoE) switches are optimized for implementing
data networks requiring PoE for IP phones, Wireless Access
Points (WAPs), IP surveillance cameras, and other 802.3af-
powered devices. These products also oer a unique power
conservation feature by powering down devices when not in
use or scheduling when to turn o power after business hours to
minimize security risks.
Multiservice
NetVanta Multiservice routers with integral Ethernet switch
address the needs of multiple networking devices, in a single
chassis. These integrated, all-in-one access platforms integrate
a robust, modular IP access router, Ethernet switch with Power
over Ethernet (PoE) as an option, rewall, VPN, and DSU/CSU
into a single platform. The NetVanta 1335 takes this integration
concept one step further by including an 802.11a/b/g Wireless
Access Point (WAP).
