The VL Evlution 4 loader is an eye activated force feed loader that delivers
consistent feed rates up to 18 balls per second. The patented and patent
pending technology that drives this loader brings force feed performance
to the price point that used to be agitating technology only. This loader
was designed to keep up with the fire rates of electronic multi mode
markers.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Quick start. Remove the two pins from the shell. Make sure the batteries
are in correct orientation, Install into battery holder with positive terminal
down. Check the placement of the ball tray between the tabs. Replaced
the shell and pins. Press on/off button, the green LEDs flash to show bat-
tery volts. Assemble to marker with barrel blocking device installed. Just
add paint and you are ready to play.
(See Diagram A)
Disassemble
To clean loader and ball tray remove the two pins from the shell. Separate
the upper and lower shell. Then remove ball tray from upper shell by
bending flexible tray towards you on one side and away from you on the
other. (see diagram B) Once the ball tray is released pull out of the shell.
To reassemble use same steps in reverse of above. Note: the bottom of
the ball tray is marked with the word “Lid”. This end goes under the bat-
tery holder in the upper shell.
Flexible ball tray installation- The ball tray is inserted in the upper
shell when disassembled. There are 5 sets of location tabs. The ball tray
can flex and bend to pass over the batteries retaining shelf. Note: the
bottom of the tray is marked with “LID” this should be facing you and
placed toward the lid opening. To position the ball tray between the tabs
reach in through the lid. Make sure the ball tray is centered between all
5 sets of tabs before installing the upper shell to the lower shell. Incorrect
installation can lead to unnecessary jams when the hard part of the ball
tray does not contact the raceway completely.
(See Diagram C)
Step 1. Battery Installationr
To replace batterties disassemble the shell by removing the two pins from
the shell. Separate the upper and lower shell, remove the 9 volt batter-
ies. The battery holder is designed to prevent incorrect installation. If you
install the batteries upside down the shell will not seat or accept the pull
pin. The positive battery post goes to the bottom of the battery holder.
Push forward and down. The batteries will stay in place as you reassemble
the upper shell and pins. (see diagram A and C)
Note: Do not use unapproved rechargeable high voltage or
high amp batterties w ith this loader.
Pro Tip: If you ever need to clean your loader follow the same steps
as the battery installation instructions.
Step 2. Install Loader Press the neck portion of the loader into the
feedport or elbow of the paintball marker as shown in direction of arrow
and orient so the lid is to the rear of the marker. The neck is designed to
fit most common paintball markers. The fit should be firm and tight.
(see diagram D)
CAUTION: Do not overfill the loader! This will cause
impeller jams or performance loss and could cause damage to the loader.
Step 3. Load Paintballs: Open the spring loaded lid, load paintballs
leaving some room for movement. Close the lid by pressing forward until
lid latches (snap shut).
Step 4. Switch on Pow er: The on/off button is located at the back of
the loader under the LED lights. When paintballs are loaded push this
button once to turn your Evlution 4 loader on. Note: When you first turn
the loader on there will be a slight pause. As the electronics calibrate the
LED will begin to flash green at this time to show battery volts. Nine volts
indicates full charge. Note: Each battery had its ow n LED indica-
tor. (see diagram F)
Intelligent Battery Managment
Green LED voltage indicator: Each time you turn on the loader the
microprocessor will test the battery voltage. The green LED will blink from
2-9 times. (see diagram F) This shows you exactly how many volts you
have in each battery. You can perform a battery check at any time by
turning the loader off and on. Your batteries should stay within one volt
of each other during use. If you use rechargeable batteries or low cost
batteries you may notice one battery running down quickly. You should
not continue to use a rechargeable battery that runs down quickly. Low
cost batteries generally have a shorter life than premium batteries.
Low -Battery LED: When the loader is on but not feeding paintballs the
LED will turn red to indicate low battery voltage. (see diagram F) You can
continue to use the loader. The loader will function with low battery volt-
age but feed rate will not be at highest level
. The loader is not feeding
paintballs when the batteries have been depleted and must be replaced.
It is possible to have one battery run down faster than the other. You may
have one battery show a red LED and not the other.
IR sensor (eyes) activation: When the IR sensors are blocked by a
paintball the loader will go to idle mode. When paintballs are shot, the
impeller will begin feeding paintballs. The loader will return to idle mode
if no more paintballs are shot.
Auto Anti Jam Function: When the impeller arm is stopped
by a jam and the feed neck is empty, the servo will reverse and clear the
impeller. The clearing of a jam may take more than one reversing of the
servo. If excessive reversing is occuring the user will need to inspect the
paintballs to determine what is causing the jam and clear paintballs or
foreign objects from the loader. If you encounter several jam conditions
in a loader full of paintballs you probably need to be using fresher or bet-
ter quality paintballs. Note: Paintballs exposed to high temperatures can
adhere to each other and will not feed in any loader. Protect your paint-
balls from direct sunlight and high temperatures whenever possible.
STORAGE
To extend product and battery life, always turn the power switch off,
remove the batteries, and store away from extremes in temperature and
humidity.
CAUTION:
USE OF PARTS INCLUDING ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT
BOARD OR SERVO MOTORS OTHER THAN THE ORIGINAL SUPPLIED
COMPONENTS MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY. CHECK WITH VIEWLOADER
BEFORE INSTALLING REPLACEMENT COMPONENTS.
CLEANING
(Diagram G) Light cleaning may be done by using a flexible/fuzzy tip
squeegee or similar object such as a paper towel or diaper wipe to clean
broken paintballs from inside the loader or feed tube. If more thorough
cleaning is necessary follow maintenance guide for disassembly and
cleaning.
MAINTENANCE GUIDE
DISASSEMBLY (See Diagram I)
Step 1. Place a towel on a flat surface and assemble, large and small
Phillips screwdriver, Small cup for screws and parts.
Step 2. Remove pins and dissassemble the upper shell from lower shell.
Step 3. Using a standard Phillips screw driver, remove the 3 screws on
the bottom of the loader.
Step 4. Remove the 3 screws in the battery holder with small Phillips
screwdriver.
Step 5. Separate the battery holder and raceway from the lower shell.
Step 6. The top and bottom sections of your loader can be cleaned
with a soft cloth or diaper wipe.
CAUTION: To prevent shorting out the wiring, check to assure no wire
is crimped between servo, circuit board or housing.
REASSEMBLY: See diagrams I and B
Pro Tip: Make sure the inside of both the top and bottom are com-
pletely dry before putting your loader back together again.
Follow the same steps called out in the battery installation instructions.
Pro Tip: Keep moisture away from all electronics of the VL Evlutio n
4™ Loader.
IMPELLER DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY:
It is best to disassemble the loader before attempting to remove the impeller.
Step 1. (Diagram H) Remove impeller Phillips screw. Use flat blade
screwdriver to lift impeller base from servo shaft. Rotate impeller and lift
at several points under base.
Step 2. Remove impeller top and arms from base. Clean and lubricate
spring with white grease.
