6.2 Combination Systems
A combination system uses multiple manifolds combined with a branch-
and-tee supply system.
This system uses various sizes of manifolds located throughout a
structure placed near each main 󶈵xture group and are supplied by the
main hot and cold supply lines similar to the branch-and-tee system.
Multiple branch lines are connected to a manifold in a common location in
lieu of multiple tees spread throughout the system. This takes advantage
of bene󶈵ts from both types of systems and helps keep hidden 󶈵ttings to a
minimum.
Ideal for areas with multiple 󶈵xtures grouped together.
Uses fewer connections behind walls compared to branch-and-tee.

6.3 Branch-and-Tee Systems
This method of plumbing is commonly referred to as a conventional
plumbing system or branch-and-main systems.
This system uses a large-diameter “main” supply line for both hot and
cold water supplies that runs throughout a structure to or near each
󶈵xture group, with smaller “branch” lines teeing o󶈴 the main to supply
each 󶈵xture.
Ideal for condensed 󶈶oor plans.
Less installation time.
