When a poured concrete radiant oor system
is installed in contact with the soil, insulation
that complies with Clause 14.4.4.3 and has a
minimum RSI value of 0.9 m
2

(a) be placed between the soil and the
concrete;
(b) extend as close as practical to the outside
edges of the concrete; and
(c) be placed on all slab edges.
When a poured concrete radiant oor system is
installed on grade, insulation that complies with
Clause 14.4.4.3 and has a minimum RSI value of
0.9 m

placed on all vertical slab edges.
When tubing is installed in the joist cavity, the
cavity shall be insulated with material having an
RSI value of at least 2.1 m

When tubing is installed above or in the suboor
and not embedded in concrete, the oor
assembly shall be insulated with a minimum total
insulated RSI value of 2.1 m
