Based on the award-winning Sirocco studio-quality speaker system, Sirocco Crossfire uses high-quality pro-audio techniques and components to produce a complete PC entertainment speaker system with sound quality comparable to high-end hi-fi.
Connecting Speakers to amplifier Connect the speakers and subwoofer as shown below. Use the longer, 8 metre cables for the rear satellites, and the shorter, 2 metre cables for the front speakers and the subwoofer. On all speakers, connect the all-black cables to the black (-) terminals, and the cables with the white stripe to the red (+) terminals. The subwoofer connects to the Sub terminal.
Source to amplifier You can connect up to three sources to Sirocco Crossfire: one full 3D positional or surround sound source, and two stereo sources. 3D or surround sound Source 1 is the 3D sound source. This could be a PC with a 4channel audio card for 3D positional sound, such as VideoLogic’s SonicVortex2, or a home cinema surround sound decoder such as VideoLogic’s DigiTheatre Decoder. 3D positional sound You can connect a PC sound card using the cables supplied.
Positioning General Here are some general rules of thumb you can use for positioning Sirocco Crossfire’s units. They are only recommendations – the keyword is ‘experiment’, until you have a set-up and a sound you like. Amplifier The amplifier fits neatly on top of the subwoofer, but if you want to place it somewhere else, make sure it is well-ventilated. Try to put it on a hard, even surface such as your desk, or a hi-fi stand.
Using the amplifier Source selects which source you want to use. • If you’re using a PC for 3D positional gaming, or a surround sound decoder for home cinema, select source 1. • If you’re using a full-size unit, such as a CD player, select source 2. • If you’re using a line-level device that has a 3.5mm jack output, such as a portable CD or MiniDisc player, select Source 3. Volume increases or decreases the volume produced by Sirocco Crossfire.
Troubleshooting Solving the problem These are some of the most likely reasons for problems you might have with Sirocco Crossfire. I can’t get any sound. Anschlüsse Lautsprecher an Verstärker anschließen Schließen Sie die Lautsprecher und den Tieftöner wie nachfolgend beschrieben an. Verwenden Sie die längeren Kabel (8 m Länge) für die hinteren und die kürzeren (2 m Länge) für die vorderen Lautsprecher und den Tieftöner. Branchements Relier les enceintes à l’amplificateur Branchez les enceintes et le caisson de graves comme indiqué ci-dessous. Utilisez le câble de 8 m pour les enceintes arrière et celui de 2 m pour les enceintes avant et le caisson de graves. Pour chaque enceinte, reliez le câble gainé de noir à la prise noire (-) et le câble noir strié de blanc à la prise rouge (+). Le caisson de grave doit être relié à la prise Sub.
