Competitive Protocols
SurveyorVFT provides the ability to work with certain competitive protocols. This section briefly describes the use
of the onscreen menu system via specific competitive keypads and protocols. With a SurveyorVFT camera dome
connected to the following competitive control systems, operation of the dome is as follows.
Pelco
The following commands will allow user entry and maneuverability around the menu system using a Pelco
MPT9500 Series Keypad and Pelco D protocol.
Preset 95 – Enters menu system
Joystick – Functions as usual
IO Key – Backs out of a menu selection or the menu system (comparable to Vicon’s A/I key)
IC Key – Goes forward in the menu system or acknowledges entries in menu system (comparable
to Vicon’s A/P key)
Sensormatic
The following commands will allow user entry and maneuverability around the menu system using an AD Touch
Trakker 16 Keypad and Sensormatic RS422/RS485 Communication protocols. An RCSN422 RS-422 converter
may be required.
Press and hold IRIS OPEN button. Press and hold a FOCUS button (NEAR or FAR) and press ZOOM
OUT button – Enters menu system.
Joystick – Functions as usual
IRIS CLOSE – Backs out of a menu selection or the menu system (comparable to
Vicon’s A/I key)
FOCUS FAR - Goes forward in the menu system or acknowledges entries in menu system (comparable
to Vicon’s A/P key)
Note: All companies make changes and improvements in their products. Because this product can
interface with equipment not manufactured by Vicon, there is a possibility that the interface protocols
may have changed since Vicon tested this product with the interfacing equipment. Vicon recommends
purchasing a single unit for bench testing prior to purchasing and installing this product in quantity.
