5.1.4.1.6 ‘H’: Download SCSI-FC Router Microcode
This function is used to update the microcode for the local host router.
1. Ensure that the SCSI-FC Router is in the host mode.
2. Enter the upper-case letter ‘H’.
3. The SLIC will respond as in the screen shot above, indicating that it is ready to
receive the microcode file.
4. At this point, despite the ongoing screen feedback message, the router is not actually
receiving anything, until the Hyperterminal program is instructed, as to what is
required to provide. There will only be a limited time period allowing the user to
progress to the following step providing this instruction, before the router exits from
this stage of the process, due to an in-built 'time-out' mechanism. If premature
evacuation occurs, simply repeat the process described to here.
5. From the HyperTerminal menu bar, select “Transfer, Send File”.
