2.2 Operation
This section covers three topics that must be understood in order to ensure proper operation of the
SCSI-FC Router: deciphering the router’s LED status codes; using SW1 on the router to assign SCSI
ID/LUN pairs and setting the routers’ modes with SW2.
2.2.1 LED Status Codes
Figure 2-3. LED Location for Front Panel
2.2.1.1 Power LED (green)
When the Power LED is solid on, it indicates that the SCSI-FC Router is powered on.
Note: The SCSI-FC Router supports connection to a 100-240 VAC power source.
2.2.1.2 Status LED (green)
• Solid On
Indicates that the Fibre Channel ports are connected through a loop with at least one
device detected.
• Slow Blink (90% On, 10% Off)
This occurs if the Fibre Channel loop is broken in any way.
• Fast Blink (8 Hz blinking)
The SCSI-FC Router is performing a loop initialization (scanning the Fibre Channel loop
for devices) or is in the download microcode mode.
• Status Code
The Status LED will perform a number of blinks to indicate a particular digital number (see
Section 2.2.1.4 to decipher the LED readout).
2.2.1.3 Fault LED (yellow)
If the fault LED is activated, it indicates that an abnormal system condition exists with one of
the SCSI-FC Routers.
Note: If the fault LED is solid-on, the status LED (green) will blink a diagnostic code. See
Table B-1 (in Appendix B) to determine the problem.
