Move the cursor to  this field and  press <Enter>. The following  fields
will appear.
Onboard FDC Controller
Enabled Enables the onboard floppy disk controller.
Disabled Disables the onboard floppy disk controller.
Onboard Serial Port 1 and Onboard Serial Port 2
Auto The system will automatically select an I/O address
for the onboard serial por t 1 and serial port 2.
3F8/IRQ4, 2F8/IRQ3, 3E8/IRQ4, 2E8/IRQ3 Allows  you  to
manually  select  an  I/O  address  for  the  onboard
serial port 1 and serial por t 2.
Disabled Disables  the  onboard  serial  port  1  and/or  serial
port 2.
UART Mode Select
The  mainboard  supports  IrDA  function  for  wireless  connectivity
between your  computer and peripheral devices. You may not  use
IrDA  (J15) and  the  COM  2 (J4)  serial  por t  at  the  same time. If
you are  using  the  COM  2  serial  port,  make sure  this  field  is  set
to Normal.
To use the IrDA function, follow the steps below.
1. Connect your IrDA cable to connector J15 on the mainboard. 
2. Set the “UART Mode Select” field to the type of IrDA
standard supported by your IrDA peripheral/device (IrDA or
ASKIR). For  better  transmission of  data, your  IrDA  peripheral
device must be within a 30
o
 angle and within a distance of 1
meter.
3. Set the “RxD TxD Active”, “IR Transmission Delay”, “UR2
Duplex Mode” and  “Use IR Pins” fields appropriately.
RxD, TxD Active
The options are Hi, Lo; Lo, Hi; Lo, Lo; and Hi, Hi.
