SELECT
The V-Drive’s 11-position Select switch provides ten dierent
clipping diode congurations plus a diode-bypass clean-boost
mode. Clipping diodes are the heart of soul of nearly every
classic overdrive pedal design, and the type and congura-
tion of these diodes denes the overdrive texture and dynamic
response character.
The V-Drive’s Select switch replicates the diode type and con-
guration of the most popular overdrive pedals from the ‘80s
and ‘90s as well as some of today’s most sought-after boutique
designs. Contributing to the advancement of the overdrive art,
the V-Drive also oers several new diode types and congura-
tions for some fresh tones for the future.
Dierent clipping diode congurations will clip at dierent signal
levels; the V-Drive’s clipping diode combinations are arranged
so the clipping threshold level increases as you turn the Select
switch clockwise. Turning the Select switch fully clockwise
engages the diode-bypass mode; in this position, the V-Drive
functions as a clean boost pedal. The V-Drive’s op amp will
begin to clip as you increase the Drive control setting, this
provides an additional range of overdrive options.
