Togetatrueverticaldepthreading,thetransducer
shouldbemountedparalleltothewaterline.A10degree
variationisacceptable.Ifthehullisreasonablyflatwitha
deadriseof10degreeorless,mountasshowninFigure
1a.Ifdeadriseisgreaterthan10degree,mountas
showninFigure1b.
1. Assemblethestainlesssteelbracketstothetransducerusingthe
hardwarefurnished.Donottightenuntilfinaladjustmentsaremade.
2. Placeassemblyontransomatselected
locationwiththefrontofthetransducer
extending1/2"to5/8"belowthebottomof
theboatandwiththefrontpartagainstthe
transom.Theleastamountthatthe
transducerextendsbelowthebottomis
desired.Iftoolow,sprayandturbulencewill
occur.
3. Withtransducerinplace,marklocationofslottedholesinbrackets.
4. Drillincenterofslotoutlinewitha9/64"(3.5mm)drill,3/4"(19mm)
deep.
5. Fastenthetransducertothetransomusingthe#10x3/4"screws.
6. Beforefinaltighteningthe4screwsholdingthebracketstothe
transducer,tiptherearedgedownapproximately1/8"asshown.
7. Tightenallscrews.CAUTION.DONOTuseany
threadlockingcompoundonthescrews.Most
productssuchasLOCTITEcontainchemicalsthat
attackandweakenplastics.IMPORTANT.There
shouldbenogapbetweenthebracketsandthe
transducer.Awidespacebetweenthesepartswill
causestressonthetransducermountingearsandresultinbreakage
withtime.
8. Inrunningthecabletothesounder,avoidproximitytootherwiringon
theboat,particularlyignitionandalternatorcables.Theycanbea
sourceofnoiseonthesounderdisplay.
