Beforeyouinstallthetransducer,cleanthespotofmudandoil.Usingan
epoxy or silicone glue make a puddle about the same diameter as the
transducer on the hull. Place the transducer in the glue. Press it down
firmly,gentlytwistingitbackandforth,makingsurethattherearenoair
bubblesinthegluebetweenthetransducerandthehull.Letthegluedry
completelybeforeturningtheuniton.
Run the transducer cord up to the unit taking the same care as you did
whenyouranthepowercord.Plugthetransducerconnectorintotheback
oftheunitandscrewtheretainingringdowntight.
TrollingMotorMounting
Toattachapuckstyletransducertoatrollingmotorusethelargecabletie
provided. Notice the slots in the transducer for this purpose. Locate the
transduceronthebottomofthelowerunitasinfigureB.Runthecableup
theshaftusingthesmallercabletiestoholditinposition.Makesurethat
the cable will notbe damaged by the motions of the trolling motor. Plug
thetransducerconnectorintothebackoftheunitandscrewtheretaining
ringdowntight.
In any application, if the transducer cord is too short, an optional
extensioncablemaybepurchased.

QWhereshouldthegaincontrolbeset?
A Keep the gain low. Usually a settingbetween 0and 3is sufficientfor
depthsupto40feet.Itisagoodideatopickasettingandleaveitthere,
if the depth does not change significantly. This gives a good frame of
referencetobeabletorecognizedifferentbottomtypes.
Q Even with the gain set on zero I still have so much signal I can't
determinethebottom.WhatcanIdo?

solution is to install an SCable in your transducer line to cut down your

QWhydoIloosethedepthreadingwhenmyboatgoesfaster?
A Your transducer position needs adjustment. The unit can read depth
at, virtually, any boat speed provided the transducer is in good contact
with the water. Also, keep in mind that the water flow under the
transducermustbeclearandundisturbedbyanypartofyourboatahead
ofthetransducer.
