LM-series fork-mountable booms 01/11
The center of gravity has a vertical component as well as a horizontal component. The vertical center of gravity is
located 13 in. (~33 cm) above the bottom edges of the fork pockets. The horizontal component ranges from 28 inches
to 47 inches measured from the outer edges of the fork pockets. As shown in the diagram above:
Retracted horizontal center of gravity (RHCG)
: boom fully retracted with a load attached at position A, the
center of gravity is located 28 inches (~71 cm) from the outer edges of the fork pockets;
Extended horizontal center of gravity (EHCG)
: fully extended with a load attached at position J, the center
of gravity is located 41-1/2 inches (~105 cm) from the outer edges of the fork pockets.
All other combinations (of boom extension and load position) yield horizontal centers of gravity located at
or between RHCG and EHCG.
