Bluetooth settings
To define how your Vertu phone is recognised by other Bluetooth
devices:
1. From the stand-by display, press
Menu » Settings »
Connectivity » Bluetooth.
2. Scroll to one of the options and then press
Select:
Bluetooth enables you to switch your bluetooth connection on and
off
Connect audio enhan. enables you to connect your phone
with an audio enhancement and the device that you want to connect
Paired devices enables you to add a new Bluetooth device and
view existing devices already paired with your phone
Active devices checks which Bluetooth connection is currently
active
My phone’s visibility enables you to operate the phone in
hidden mode to avoid malicious software
My phone’s name enables you to define the name that you want
your Vertu phone to be recognised by on the network.
Do not accept Bluetooth connectivity from sources you
do not trust. Alternatively, switch off the Bluetooth
function. This will not affect other functions of your
Vertu phone.
Bluetooth wireless connection
To make a Bluetooth wireless connection:
1. From the stand-by display, press
Menu » Settings »
Connectivity » Bluetooth.
2. Scroll to
Paired devices and press Select.
3. Select a device from the list of available devices or scroll to
Add new
device
and press Select.
Your Vertu phone will automatically turn Bluetooth on if necessary and
search
for available devices.
4. Scroll to the device to connect to and press
Add.
5. Enter a passcode if necessary and press
OK.
A message is displayed when the device is connected successfully
and
the paired device is added to the
Paired devices list.
To check which Bluetooth connection is currently active, scroll to
Active devices and then press Select.
Select
Options to access available options depending on the status of
the device and the Bluetooth connection.
Wireless LAN
Normally, Wireless LAN (WLAN) is set up when the WLAN wizard is
run when your Signature phone is first initialised. However, the
settings can be changed subsequently if required.
To use Wireless LAN (WLAN), you must obtain an unlicensed mobile
access
(UMA) subscription from your service provider. The correct
settings may already be configured in your phone. For more
information, contact your service provider.
The WLAN function allows a seamless hands-off connection from
the
mobile phone network to a WLAN. When your phone is
connected to a WLAN access point and you move out of range of
this access point, the roaming function tries to automatically connect
your phone to another access point belonging to the same network.
If the WLAN connection is lost, your phone connects automatically to
the mobile phone network.
Find, save and connect to networks
To search for available WLANs:
From the stand-by display, press
Menu » Settings » Connectivity
» WLAN » Available WLANs.
Your Vertu phone automatically detects hidden networks. You can
only connect to a hidden network if you know the network’s service
set identifier (SSID).
To connect to a known WLAN:
1. From the stand-by display, press
Menu » Settings »
Connectivity » WLAN » Available WLANs. You can also
press
Go to » WLAN.
2. Scroll to the required WLAN and press Connect.
3. Enter the SSID and/or network password if required.
Your phone connects to the WLAN and asks if you would like to save
the
network for future use.
4. Press Yes or No as required.
If you pressed Yes, the WLAN is saved to the Saved WLANs list.
Saved networks
Display, manage, connect to, and prioritise your saved networks.
Select
Menu » Settings » Connectivity » WLAN » Saved
WLANs
.
The networks are listed in order of priority. The network with the
highest
priority is the first one, to which an automatic connection
attempt is made.
To connect manually, scroll to a network and select
Connect.
Manage saved networks
Scroll to a network, press
Options and select from the following:
Disconnect to set automatic or manual connection to the network
when it becomes available.
Remove from list to remove the network from the Saved
networks list.
Organise priority to move a saved network in the order of
priority.
Forward settings to forward the settings of the saved network.
Enter a security code (preset code 12345), and the phone number,
and select Send.
Add new network to add a new network and set its access data
manually.
Internet connection
This option enables you to ask before using a WLAN network
provided
one is available or whether to use it automatically.
Select
Menu » Settings » Connectivity » WLAN » Internet
connection
.
Options are
Ask first or Do not ask.
WLAN search
When switched
On, the WLAN search option enables you to connect
automatically to saved networks when you are within range. When
set to
Off, the phone does not automatically detect available
networks.
