Chapter 29: Understanding Wave Call Routing
Wave Global Administrator Guide
A call route is a path through Wave by which a call goes from a source to a destination. There
are four types of call routes to consider:
•
Internal. From an internal source to an internal destination (usually extension to
extension)
•
Outbound. From an internal source to an external destination
•
Inbound. From an external source to an internal destination
•
Tandem. From an external source to an external source
Each section in this chapter describes and gives examples of each of the four call routing
types. The following diagram provides a simplified view of Wave call routing, and all the major
system components a call can pass through on its way to its destination, including the First Digit
