Call Handling 1-85
Chapter 1: Basic System Features
SBX IP Programming & Operations Guide
Station Serial Call (Internal Calls Only)
Using DSS flex buttons, users can place consecutive intercom calls without returning the line
to an idle state (no need to hang-up) between calls.
OPERATION / SETUP
To use serial calling:
Press the appropriate DSS flex button.
The current call is disconnected, then a new call is established.
Time & Date Setup (Digital network Only)
In an outgoing call, the ISDN network sends the appropriate time and date with the "connect
message" to the called party’s display when the call is answered.
CONDITIONS
• This feature may also be set at the Attendant Station.
• Time & Date can be set to a default value or changed based on seasonal time changes.
OPERATION / SETUP
To set the time & date feature for a digital network:
1. Press [TRANS/PGM], then 046
2. Press 1 (Yes).
3. Press [HOLD/SAVE] to save the setting.
Voice Over
This feature allows a user (on a current call) to accept and hear an "announcement" from
another station that has camped-on to their station. The user can converse with the camped-on
station without the distant party hearing it. The called user can also toggle between the
camped-on station and the distant party. However, the camped-on station and the distant party
cannot speak to each other.
For example, a user has asked a co-worker to find some information that they need to provide
to a current caller. Once the co-worker has found the information he can camp-on (notify) the
busy station. At that point, the user can accept the Voice Over, and speak to the co-worker
without the distant party hearing their exchange of information. The user can then switch back
and forth between the co-worker and the distant party to gather and deliver information.
NOTE: This is not related to Conference Calling. Only the user can hear either of the other
two parties. The camped-on station and the distant party cannot hear or speak to each other.
