Enable Barge In mode
OPERATION / SETUP
To use the Monitor mode:
When you receive the busy tone at a station, press the "MONITOR" soft button.
(Those already participating in the conversation hear a warning tone, and you can listen
into the conversation.)
To use the Speech mode:
While you are listening to the existing conversation, press the "JOIN" soft button.
(Those already participating in the conversation hear a warning tone, and you can
participate in the conversation.)
To cancel the Monitor or Speech mode:
Press the "DROP" soft button or hang up.
Background Music (BGM)
A station user can listen to Background Music (BGM) through the speaker while the handset is
on-hook, and the line is in an idle state.
- Music can be enabled on an external page port from the Attendant Station.
- Background music can be transmitted through the intercom box at an Attendant Station.
CONDITIONS
• Music from the source is heard over the station speaker and will be shut-off automatically
when a call or paging announcement is received, or when the station is taken off-hook.
• When lifting handset or pressing [SPEAKER] at a station, music is automatically shut-off.
• When external music is assigned, the music source should be connected to the MBU.
• The same music source can be used with MOH (see 1-74).
• Press the volume buttons to adjust the volume while the background music is heard.
• Press the [DND/FWD] to block BGM to block an intercom box / Doorbox.

Barge In Mode -- if in monitor mode, a barge in station
can only hear the current conversation. If in speech
mode, a barge in station can converse.
