Virtual Mailboxes
This feature provides a way to assign mailboxes in the system database that do not have
physical stations associated with them. They function as regular mailboxes in the system.
• By default, extensions 200-249 are the default virtual mailboxes. A virtual mailbox is
simply a voice mailbox that does not have a digital/IP/SLT extension associated with it.
• Callers can be routed to the mailbox and users can access the mailbox via mailbox
buttons. It is very useful for call routing/message taking applications where there is a need
for a mailbox but not an associated telephone.
CONDITIONS
• Virtual mailboxes may be assigned as a flex button via the mailbox button feature.
• Virtual mailboxes do not decrease station capacity.
