• Protocol: When the user presses the {RECORD} button, the system sends an SMDI
message to Voice Mail PC through a RS-232C serial cable.
The format is as follows:

OPERATION / SETUP
To program a {RECORD} flex button:
1. Press [TRANS/PGM], then the Flex button to be assigned.
2. Press [TRANS/PGM], then enter 54.
3. Press [HOLD/SAVE] to store the setting.
To record a conversation:
During a conversation with a CO line caller, press {RECORD} to initiate recording.
The recording is saved to the user’s mailbox.
To cancel/stop recording during a conversation:
Press {RECORD} again or hang up to end the recording.
Two-way Record -- if value is set to ON, the station user can
record the incoming and outgoing conversation.
