Network Call (Net Call)
This feature allows a user to make a call to a station in another networked system by dialing a
station number in the same way that an intercom call is placed to a station within the same
system. In addition, all telephony features available for intercom calls (such as e.g., call
transfer, hold, conference) are available for Net Calls.
CONDITIONS
To make a Network Call, the caller dials the destination station number without first having
to access a CO line.
When a caller makes a Network Call, the system automatically accesses an idle CO line to
send the Network Call request to the destination station. If there is no available idle CO
line, the user hears an error tone.
A received Network Call rings in the Terminal Answer Mode, regardless of the Intercom
answer mode setting (Hands-free/Terminal/Privacy).
When the system detects a fatal error from the network, the system will send the digit
stream to the network using the alternate speed dial bin. In this case, the Call is not a
networking Call.
The Network Call is also applied to the CO Call Restriction Timer (PGM 180 - FLEX 17).
ADMIN PROGRAMMING
Set Networking Basic Attributes
Use PGM 320 … see page A-22.
Set Networking CO Line Attributes
Use PGM 322 … see page A-24.
Access Networking Routing Table - Numbering Plan
Use PGM 324 … see page A-24.
OPERATION / SETUP
To make a Net Call:
Lift the handset or press [SPEAKER], then dial the station number on another networked
system.
-or-
Press [NET DSS], if available. The station uses the Network Routing table to automatically
accesses a network CO Line and send a digit stream to the networked system.
The called system receives the digit stream sent by the calling system, and uses the
Network Routing Table to analyze the stream to determine the right destination station.
