CO Transit - Out
The CO Transit-Out increases efficiency of CO lines, and reduces call costs by routing outgoing
CO calls to the nearest appropriate point within a networked system.
CONDITIONS
IMPORTANT: The system requires sufficient digit translation and string analysis options to
enable the switch to route the call correctly.
To use CO Transit-Out, the networked system user must dial the CO transit-out code; the
CO Transit-Out service is not activated by pressing a CO Line button.
Station 202 of the slave system dials the CO Transit-Out code, that is registered in the
network numbering plan table. The CO Transit-Out code allows a station from the slave
system to seize the PSTN CO line of the master system.
The slave system seizes a CO line that is preprogrammed for transmitting the CO
Transit-Out code to the master system. The dialed code is transmitted to the master
system.
The master system uses the CO Transit-Out code to seize a CO line that is
preprogrammed to serve the request. After seizing the PSTN CO line, the master system
sends the digit information to the PSTN that is dialed from the station of the slave system.
Calls are only connected when the called party answers.
Toll restrictions can be applied to the station COS of the networked system.
On the master system, the Attendant must have CO access authority to make a public
connection.
For CO Transit-Out, any code from the NET Routing Table can be used (see Admin
Programming).
NOTE: If there is a conflict between NET Routing Table and the System Numbering Plan,
the System Numbering Plan will have the highest priority.
If the CO Transit-Out code is programmed into the network Numbering Plan Table, then
the Type value of this entry must be set to PSTN (see Admin Programming).
If the networked system isn't directly connected to the master system, the CO Transit-Out
code can be transparently transmitted through the other networked systems setting the
network Routing Table - Numbering Plan (see Admin Programming).
At the master system, the PSTN CO lines must be set (see Admin Programming).
