Paging 1-174
Chapter 1: Basic System Features
SBX IP Programming & Operations Guide
When paging is used in the system, another page is not allowed at the same time.
The handset should be used to make a page. On stations with a display, "LIFT HANDSET
TO PAGE" appears if a page is attempted without lifting the handset.
A Flex button can be programmed for Paging.
If an intercom call is made to a station making a page, a busy tone sounds to the caller.
If a CO line call is received at a station making a page, the paging station receives an
off-hook ring.
External paging:
- There is only one external paging zone available.
- External paging requires an externally-provided amplifier and paging system.
- External paging units can be associated to relay contact.
- When external paging is required, appropriate external equipment should be attached
to the proper external page connections on the MBU.
Internal paging:
- There are ten internal paging zones available.
- A station can be in any or all zones, or in no zone at all.
- Stations not assigned to a page group can still make page announcements (if enabled
in station programming).
- While stations can be assigned to a page group in order to receive pages
announcements, those stations may not make page announcements.
Meet-Me paging
- A user can respond to a Meet-Me page from any station in the system to be
connected to the paging party for a private conversation.
- The user has a limited time period within which to respond to the Meet-Me.
- A station may respond to a meet me page regardless of assignment to a Pick-up
Group or Paging Zone, and despite whether or not the station has authorization to
make a page.
- A Meet-Me page cannot be answered via a CO line. Only an intercom line can be
used. If a user tries to answer a Meet-Me page request from CO line, an error tone
sounds (and on phones with a display an error message appears).
Access codes are as follows:
501-510 = Internal Page Zones (506-510 = Conference page zones)
543 = Internal All Call Page
544 = Meet Me Page
545 = External Page Zone
