Linked Stations 1-148
Chapter 1: Basic System Features
SBX IP Programming & Operations Guide
Linked-Pair Stations
Two stations can be linked together for use by a single user. By linking a digital phone with
another station, the user can use them alternatively.
CONDITIONS
The system will support 13 linked station pairs.
A station can be only linked with one other station.
For purposes of assigning features and the intercom station number, one station in a
Linked-Pair is designated as a "Master" station, the other is the "Slave" station.
The number used for stations in a Linked-Pair is the station number of the "Master" as
assigned in ADMIN PROGRAMMING.
The attributes of the second station (Slave) follow the attribute settings of the Master
station (for example, settings for Day/Night COS, CO Warning Tone, CO Auto Hold, CO
Call Drop, and Alarm).
If both stations in a Linked-Pair are idle both linked stations ring when a CO call is
received. However, if only one station in a Linked-Pair is busy when a CO call is received,
the caller will hear a busy tone.
Any time one of the stations in a Linked-Pair receives calls (including intercom, CO,
DISA/DID, recall ring, or transfer), both stations ring.
If one station in linked pair is in DND, call forward, or a pre-selected message display
state, the other station in the pair automatically assumes the same state. Conversely, it is
also true that if such a mode/state is cancelled/removed at one station in a linked pair, the
cancellation/removal is automatically applied to other station in the pair.
If one station in linked pair is busy:
- "IN USE AT LINK STA" is displayed on the other station in the pair.
- the other station in the pair does not ring for incoming calls.
Linked-Pairs are automatically set to Tone mode regardless of the current intercom
Answer mode setting of either station in the pair.
One station in a Linked-Pair can call the other station by dialing the intercom number
(which is the same for both stations when linked).
Both CO and intercom calls can be transferred between Linked-Pairs.
The following cannot be included in a Linked-Pair.
- Doorboxes, DSS/BLFs, or ISDN phones
- Attendant stations
- Port blocked station
