CLI Message Wait
When a call comes into the system through an ISDN DID line, the CLI of the incoming call is
displayed on the target station. If the caller disconnects before an Attendant or the target station
answers, the CLI is stored in the CO Message Wait queue of the target station.
CONDITIONS
IMPORTANT: DID/MSN must be set as the CO service type.
• The total number of CLI Message Wait instances at one time on a single system is 500.
• CLI Message Wait information is only available for digital and SLT phones with a display.
• Any stored CLI Message Wait instances are not erased if the system is powered down for
any reason (such as a power outage).
• If an incoming call is routed to a Ring Group, the CLI Message Wait pertains only to the
first member of the Ring Group (see 1-112).
• When the call is routed to a member of a UCD/ Circular/ Terminal station group, the CLI
Message Wait is provided to the first ringing station only (see 1-96).
• If the caller disconnects the call:
- during a voice announcement, Message Wait information is not stored.
- while a station is ringing (after the voice mail announcement), the Message Wait
information will be stored at the first ringing station.
• CLI Message Wait follows the rule of the "Message Wait" feature: when a call comes in for
Station A, the Message Wait information will be stored at Station A, even if the call is
forwarded to another station.
• If there is no remaining Message Wait buffer, the following warning message prints out via
RS-232C: "WARNING: CLI MESSAGE WAITING BUFFER FULL".
ISDN CLI Restriction -- if value is set to ON, the CLI
information is restricted by PX.
