Setting Up Off Hook Voice Announce
With Off Hook Voice Announce (OHVA), extension users can receive a voice announcement from a DX-120 system
extension while their telephone is busy.
OHVA uses the speakerphone circuit to accommodate a second conversation
path to the telephone.
When programming individual extensions, you allow or disallow use of OHVA.
This includes determining if the extension can use OHVA, and whether the extension can receive OHVA.
To receive an OHVA call, extension users must be using the handset for the call in progress (they cannot be on
speakerphone and receive an OHVA announcement).
An OHVA call can easily be rejected if the call in progress should not be interrupted.
The following conditions apply to OHVA:
- When placing an OHVA call to an extension that is busy using the speakerphone, the display options will not
include the voice option.
- If extension users are on a line and have mute activated, the line will remain muted until the Voice Over Busy
is complete.
IMPORTANT!
Incoming calls cannot be received by a phone connected to a DPM16 (7221).
However, outgoing calls can be placed from a phone connected to a DPM16.
