Assigning the VM Port Type to Extensions via PC-DBA (continued)
2) Select the extension number you want to program.
From the Port Type field:
3) Select V.M.
• The default is EXT.
• The default for extensions 157 through 164 is VM, since these extensions are reserved for the in-skin
voice mail.
• Program other port types as needed using the steps above.
NOTE
Use Voice Announce (VA) if this directory number is connected to a recording device,
Voice Mail (VM) if this directory number is connected to voice mail, or extension (EXT)
if this directory number is connected to an extension.
When all assignments have been made:
4) Click the Update button to enter and save your settings into the database on your local disk.
5) Click the Close button to exit the current screen and return to the PC-DBA main screen.
Now, program the UCD members (see 365).

NOTE
chg, bksp, save, one, always, del, and ack are interactive LCD button operations.
Use the three buttons below the LCD display to activate the associated operation.
You can press Hold at any time to return to the previous level or press the volume
buttons to return to the main DB selection screen.
1) Enter Database Administration (see page 26) using the feature code Feature # * to display the password
prompt.
2) Enter the DB Admin password (see page 27).
3) Press show to display the DB Item Select screen.
4) Enter 01-XXX-21 to program the extension port type (where XXX is the analog port number: 101~204)
you want to use for the voice mail.
5) Press save.
6) Press chg until the system displays port type VM for this extension.
7) Press the Volume button (up or down) to return to the DB Item Selection screen.
Now, program the UCD members (see 366).
