OVERVIEW
You can set up the DX-120 to interface with either:
• An external, analog third party voice mail system
You can connect the DX-120 system to a third-party voice mail system using spare analog ports.
Remember that while using a third-party voice mail system is a viable option, doing so occupies
available analog ports, thereby reducing the number of system ports that you can use for the telephones,
FAX machines, modems, etc.
NOTE
If you use analog voice mail, you must assign system ports to the voice mail system.
If you use the digital DX-120 Voice Mail, you do not use system ports and therefore do
not have any port loss.
OR
• The internal digital DX-120 Voice option
It is highly recommended that you use one of the DX-120 voice mail systems (7270C [hard drive] or
7271C [Compact Flash]), because it is a digital integration and therefore does not occupy valuable
analog port space of the DX-120 system.
