Programming Extensions for Alternate Line IDs
for Systems with ISDN (T1/PRI) Installation Only
Once you have set up the Alternate Line IDs in the appropriate table, you need to program the appropriate extensions
so that the each extension will use the corresponding alternate line ID. Be sure to review all of the conditions and
results for programming Extension ALIs.
ALTERNATE LINE ID CONDITIONS AND RESULTS
Consider the following conditions and results when programming extensions:

If Alternate Line ID Index is programmed
at the extension and “Number” in the
corresponding Index of the Alternate
Line ID Table is not programmed.
The Calling / Answering Party Number
will be the “Prefix” number (defined by
C.O. Line Application - ISDN) plus the
Extension Directory Number of the
extension.
If Alternate Line ID Index meets all of the
following conditions:
• is programmed at the extension
• the “Complete” field in the
corresponding Index of the Alternate
Line ID Table is set to “N” the
“Number” field in the corresponding
Index of the ²Alternate Line ID Table is
programmed
The Calling / Answering Party Number
will be the “Prefix” number (defined by
C.O. Line Application - ISDN) plus the
number defined in “Number” field at the
corresponding Index in the Alternate
Line ID Table.
If Alternate Line ID Index is not pro-
grammed at the extension...
The Calling / Answering Party Number
will be the “Prefix” number (defined by
C.O. Line Application - ISDN) plus the
Extension Directory Number of the
extension.
If Alternate Line ID Index is programmed
at the extension, but both of the following
are also true:
• the “Complete” field in the
corresponding Index of the Alternate
Line ID table is set to “Y”.
• the “Number” field in the corresponding
Index of the Alternate Line ID Table is
programmed
The Calling / Answering Party Number
will be the whole number defined in
“Number” field at the corresponding
Index in the Alternate Line ID Table.
