DX-120 Programming Manual PROGRAMMING FOR THE OPTIONAL T1 AND ISDN (T1/PRI) CARDS
EN Code
• AMI (i.e., Alternate Marked Inversion)
• B8ZS (i.e., Binary 8 Zero Substitution) - default*
This setting is used to send an “all zero” channel without violating the “ones-density”
requirement (i.e., a single “1” in each channel and no more than 15 zeros in a row).
Voice transmission will not allow an all zero channel, therefore, the B8ZS setting must
be used.
IMPORTANT!
If you are programming for ISDN (T1/PRI) and not T1, be sure to leave this
setting at B8ZS.
System LPBK
(i.e., Loop Backs)
• None (default)
• Local
- This method loops the T1 board’s transmit output and receive input paths. The
loopback terminates all traffic and halts call processing (i.e., idle). While in the idle
condition, the system continues to transmit the T1 transmit stream to the network, but
it will not answr incoming calls.
- The main purpose of local loopback is to verify that the T1 board can properly
synchronize. Loopback local oepration is applicable to superframe and extended
superframe modes.
• Payload
- This is to be used with the ESF mode only (see previous description in this table).
This method loops the network receive input path with the remote T1 equpment’s
transmit output path.
- This method does not allow looping of the first bit of each frame to allow the T1
board’s facility data link to continue to transmit maintenance information.
- The T1 board goes “out of service” during this loopback time.
